Working in Ericsson Nikola Tesla’s Digital Society Unit is an exciting opportunity to take part in innovative and challenging ICT solutions. The unit works with local and foreign clients to deliver large-scale projects that impact millions of lives.

We are looking for a Solution Architect for Digital Transformation Projects (M/F) in the field of public administration.

Location: Zagreb

Join our dynamic team in this key role and be at the forefront of driving digital innovation at national level. As a Solution Architect, you will be essential in designing and deploying complex ICT solutions that enhance our business operations and service delivery.

You will utilize your expertise to craft cutting-edge software solutions tailored to meet our clients' unique needs. You will analyze client business requirements and offer strategic advice to transform their software ecosystems effectively. As a vital technical leader, you will ensure that all solutions are scalable, maintainable, and conform to the highest quality standards and best practices in the industry. Moreover, you will have a significant impact on our pre-sales efforts, collaborating closely with the sales team to increase revenue growth and provide essential strategic insights.

The ideal candidate is a proficient problem solver with strong analytical capabilities and a deep understanding of various software technologies, solutions, and platforms. Exceptional leadership and communication skills are essential to excel in this role.

Responsibilities: 

  • Produce well-documented architectural options for solutions that respond to business requirements, detailing risks, costs, implications, and opportunities.
  • Gather customer requirements and design a solution blueprint, developing a clear and implementable understanding of the client's vision and requirements.
  • Create requirements and specifications for ICT solutions that drive digital transformation for our clients.
  • Conduct business analysis and research to identify key metrics and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with team members to collect, analyze, and evaluate information from multiple sources.
  • Build and maintain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to define business objectives and ensure that IT strategies align with business goals.
  • Explain technical issues and solutions to a non-technical audience in a clear and patient manner.
  • Create high-level product specifications and design documents.
  • Collaborate closely with DevOps teams to provide architectural blueprints, ensuring a shared understanding of client requirements and seamless integration with deployment processes for effective solution delivery.
  • Evaluate and integrate new technologies into existing business environments to enhance continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Lead cross-functional teams through complex project implementations, providing technical leadership and guidance throughout the process.
  • Develop training materials and conduct workshops for team members and stakeholders to enhance understanding and use of implemented technologies.

Requirements: 

  • At least 7 years of programming experience; proven experience in engineering and software architecture design.
  • Good understanding of and practical experience with UML.
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles, with familiarity in languages such as Java, essential for evaluating and designing robust software architectures.
  • Understanding the basics of frontend application design, including user interface and user experience considerations, to ensure cohesive and effective integration with backend systems.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
  • Skilled in collecting and interpreting business requirements, translating them into actionable and strategic technical solutions.
  • Proficient in writing clear, detailed, and comprehensive documentation that supports the design and implementation of technical solutions.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership and problem-solving abilities
  • A highly analytical mindset; ability to see both the big picture and the details.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

We especially appreciate: 

  • A master’s degree in Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Geography, Geodesy, Geoinformatics, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in delivering projects for public administration, demonstrating familiarity with the sector's unique challenges and requirements.
  • A firm determination and commitment to continuous learning to master the profession.
  • A willingness to experiment, embrace failures, and learn from these experiences to drive innovation.
  • A strong desire to share achievements and knowledge, helping others and addressing their needs, which enhances team success.
