The Data Management Manager leads a team of data managers, data engineers and Business Analysts entrusted with managing one of our most business-critical assets - our data. Combining technical knowledge and people leadership skills, they drive how your team members develop and implement processes and technology solutions for production and consumption of data at scale, offline, and in real-time, following data governance requirements and development standards. They are mentors to their team on technical.
elements of the data management & engineering craft, and on how to best apply them in our evolving business objectives and technology landscape. With your team working on several product development or strategic insights efforts, you maintain a horizontal view across their work to ensure consistent standards are applied and leverage is created through extensibility and reuse.
Our mission is to create a competitive advantage throughout Booking.com using our data. One of the foundational tasks to deliver this is to enable our company to build reliable, well-governed and modern data pipelines transporting our HR Data so we continue to understand one of our biggest assets, our People.
You'll balance the needs of operating our on-premise infrastructure while simultaneously transitioning towards modernized, cloud-based pipelines using a data lake and warehouse using containerized compute and cloud-based storage. You're surrounded by a high density of data engineers and data managers, relative to most teams at Booking. Together, you'll work on projects with (backend) engineering teams eager to get your support in building consumer-focused pipelines as well as senior stakeholders to challenge and revolutionize the functional use of our data underpinned by strong data management and governance.
