Technical Architect* Data Analytics Platform

As Technical Architect* you will be working hand-in-hand with senior stakeholder to translate requirements into technical solutions for the BioNTech’s data and analytics platform. You will work closely with all team members to create a modular, scalable solution that addresses and incorporates future architectural changes and designs. Further, you will drive the team’s engineering practices in test-driven development, continuous integration, and automated deployment. The position will be filled on a temporary basis as a parental leave replacement.

Your main responsibilities are:

• Design the overall technological architecture of the product/ service/ application. Constantly look for better ways of solving technical problems designing the solution within the Enterprise Data Platform
• Coach and guide teams on coding practices, code reviews, continuous integration and automated deployment for products
• Work with Product Owners to align the roadmap with strengths and opportunities within the technical solution space
• Provide a roadmap for the team for implementing software engineering practices ensuring high code quality and security
• Maintain and communicate external IT dependencies by aligning with business stakeholders

• Experience in building a data platform before and operating it in production with your team

• You have high standards for code quality, documentation, onboarding, testing and automation
• Security is not an afterthought to you
• Data & Software Engineering and Data Science technologies all are familiar to you
• SQL, Python, Terraform, AWS, yaml, javascript are all familiar tools
• Strong communication skills with ability to align the organization on complex technical decisions 
• Fluent in English, both oral and written
