The Position

At Roche Diagnostics, we are leading the digitalization of diagnostics and revolutionizing the way data is accessed and utilized in laboratories and Point of Care settings. As a Software Architect in our Diagnostics Insights SW organization, you will play a vital role in the development of our digital products, collaborating with different business areas to drive the digital transformation of diagnostics.

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Create and/or drive the creation of architectures aligned with project roadmaps, platform strategies, governance policies, and standards
• Ensure the feasibility of our products, understanding business needs, and making informed technology decisions
• Actively participate in the development phase of project delivery, advising projects on technology and architecture trends for decision making
• Mentor and guide other engineers to enhance their expertise and effectiveness
• Represent Architecture during agile ceremonies and ensure alignment with Enterprise Architecture
• Provide technical leadership, career development, and coaching for team members
• Establish performance targets for team members and conduct appraisals
• Communicate effectively in English

Who You Are:

• University Degree in a relevant field
• Proven experience in designing solution architecture, with a focus on achieving quality attributes and non-functional requirements
• 5-10 years of experience as a solutions/software architect
• Experience in large, international, and complex development projects
• Ability to act as a liaison between governance bodies (e.g., enterprise architecture, quality) and the project team
• Proficient in architecting cloud-based solutions
• Familiarity with software architecture and architectural patterns
• Knowledge of data privacy regulations and experience in regulated environments is a plus
• Experience with Cloud vendors such as Azure and AWS
• Familiarity with defining REST and JSON based APIs is desired
• Understanding of healthcare data standards (ASTM, HL7, IHE, DICOM) is desired
