Purpose Of The Role
The Ardonagh Analytics Lab is an exciting new operation established by The Ardonagh Group in Mullingar, Co. Westmeath. The Analytics Lab is responsible for delivering data-driven insights to Ardonagh’s clients across the globe and helping its 10,000+ colleagues offer tailored solutions across a diverse range of insurance products and related services.

The Analytics Lab is focused entirely on improved outcomes for every participant in the value chain; forensically investigating Ardonagh’s pool of data to build an improved understanding of risk, examining possible future outcomes and working with clients and insurer partners in preparation for the unknown.

The Data Scientist will be responsible for identifying the true potential of The Group’s complex data sets, generating insights, and proactively designing and delivering the analytical outputs that will drive business performance for colleagues and clients across The Group.

The Data Scientist will work closely with the leadership team to drive innovation in the use of data to deliver new insights and value creation opportunities.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelors / Master’s degree / PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Artificial Intelligence, Quantitative Methods, or a closely related quantitative field.
• 4+ years of industry experience, with expertise in Data Science, Machine Learning
• Proficient in R, Python, SQL
• Expertise in data mining, statistical modelling, and machine learning
• Strong quantitative analysis skills and experience in developing calculations to interpret and assess data sets to produce insight. Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Passion for optimizing Business performance, Client Lifecycle and Client Experience with data.
• Strong understanding of Business Intelligence strategies/design as it relates to Data analysis.
• Experience with one or more BI tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, QlikView and other
• Financial services and ideally General Insurance experience strongly desired.
• Good project management skills; experience managing projects / requests with multiple senior stakeholders

• Experienced and independent subject matter expert, capable of working on own initiative whilst delivering best practice solutions that deliver the strategic objectives of The Centre.
• Possesses a can-do attitude and can get things done, rapidly building an understanding of The Ardonagh Group business segments and technical environments.
• Strong relationship builder and capable of credibly managing internal and external executive stakeholders.
• Able to lead, provide guidance, training, and problem-solving assistance to other team members.
