Job Description

Wattstor is seeking a skilled Data Scientist with development capabilities to join our team. In this role, you will contribute to enhancing our prediction models for site electricity consumption and photovoltaic (PV) or Wind turbine generation. You'll also be instrumental in generating innovative ideas for additional predictive metrics to improve our Energy Management System (EMS). Your responsibilities will include managing existing models, refining them, and developing new ones by yourself or with an external company which can help with development. This entails data analysis, pattern identification, model construction, and predictive analytics. Before implementing any model into production, you will also be responsible for evaluating its Proof of Concept (PoC). Another key aspect of this role involves setting up Machine Learning Operations (MLOps).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, train, and optimise machine learning models
  • Data preprocessing and feature engineering
  • Vendor management, including task assignment and monitoring
  • Time management and project management
  • Create and present reports for management and clients
  • Collaborate with data analysts, software engineers, and business teams

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Master's degree in a field related to data science, statistics, computer science, or a similar field
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python and RestAPI (ideally FastAPI)
  • Familiarity with machine learning tools like scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.
  • Experience with database systems (SQL, NoSQL) and time series data (Influx, AWS Timestream)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience with vendor management and outsourcing (Advantage)
  • Experience with MLops (Advantage)
  • Czech (Slovak) and English language
